尽管麦克勒莫坚称那次接触是双方自愿的，但陪审团还是判定他犯有四项罪名中的三项罪名，驳回了他关于当时女子是在他熟睡时与他接触的主张。现场照片显示，女子曾呕吐并陷入昏迷，这与麦克勒莫的陈述不吻合。
检察官表示该女子从未索要赔偿，提起诉讼只是因为“不能这样对待别人”，辩护律师则称那次相遇是“两名醉酒者发生性关系”，还声称考文顿看到是该女子主动接触的，但考文顿本人并未出庭作证。
麦克勒莫在22年被开拓者裁掉NBA生涯宣布终结，随后辗转中国与西班牙，最后在波特兰机场被美国执法官逮捕。
麦克勒莫的量刑听证会下周四举行，据美媒Live Mint表示，麦克勒莫将面临至少8年的刑期。
